NEWBIE BLOGGER: How I got my blog approved by Google AdSense?

What is Google AdSense?

According to their site:
Google AdSense provides a way for website owners to earn money from their online content. AdSense works by matching text and display ads to your site based on your content and visitors. The ads are created and paid for by advertisers who want to promote their products. Since these advertisers pay different prices for different ads the amount you earn will vary.

Why is it popular among bloggers?

Look at the benefits they can offer:

Aside from their quick adaption to new trends , they were also admired for being one of the highest paying ad networks to this date.

I started developing this Wais Pinay Blog last October 2017. If you've read how my blog started (if not, you may check it here), you may recall how my professor influenced me about starting a blog.  I decided: “Why not monetize it?” I knew about Google AdSense before since I’ve been using it years ago for my YouTube channel. I planned to connect it to my blog after I’ve fully developed it since I heard getting AdSense approval isn’t that easy especially for newbies like me.

I researched for months of what I had to place in my blog and what I should not.  Here are the things I did:

1.             BUY DOMAIN

This process is kind of fun. You had to think of a domain that generally represents your blog, is catchy - easy to remember. The challenge is that you have to be the first one to get it. Famous sites to buy was Crazy Domains and GoDaddy.

2.             ADD THE FOLLOWING:

ü  ABOUT THE AUTHOR/BLOG
I remembered my professor told us not to forget including something like this. It is like a welcome note for your readers. Its main purpose was to give them hint about who you are/what you’re writing about and also, your contact details. It has to be brief and placed on easily seen area of your blog.

ü  MAKE MENU EASY TO NAVIGATE
They say that this one also plays an important role on your way to getting Adsense approval. I’ve read that this has to be uncomplicated for your readers, include only the things you think are important and helpful for your blog site.

ü  DETAILED ABOUT AUTHOR/BLOG + CONTACT
Now here is where you’re going to write your heart out. You may take the entire page to write the things you want your readers to know. Of course, stick to the rule that less is better.

ü  PRIVACY POLICY + TERMS&CONDITIONS
This is also a must have, according to top bloggers I’ve stalked. HAHA! You can just search online for Privacy Policy and Terms&Conditions generator.

3.             VERIFY ADDRESS ON GOOGLE ADSENSE ACCOUNT
This is another thing you have to take action of. There’s a notification that appeared to my Google Adsense account that I had to verify my address for Ads to start showing up to my site. Below is a mail you'll receive form AdSense bearing your code for your address verification.

4.             CHOOSE EASILY NAVIGABLE BLOG TEMPLATE
My professor suggested us to consider using templates from Sora Templates since it is less likely to encounter error with Blogger. Plus, it has wide range of beautiful templates that is free to use!
5.             CREATE ORIGINAL CONTENT
This is where we have to put in much of our effort. It has to be original and has to have at least 350 words per post if I recalled it correctly. I also read  that there is also a newbie blogger who got AdSense approval with just 3 posts so I think it is really about your content, not the number of posts, that matters.
6.             ANY OTHER BLOG UPGRADE
I am talking about including other gadgets like Live traffic, Blog Logo, etc. and even added Favicon just to personalize it. It is up to you anyway.

When I am already satisfied with how my blog looks, I applied for GoogleAdsense and mind you, it was such a long wait. I’ve been praying for it to get approved, constantly checking my email. I am very hopeful, honestly – it was because I know I did my best to improve my blog and if I ever got rejected, I am still determined to do more and reapply.

While waiting, I tried applying for other website monetization options like:
1.             Media.net
2.             Infolinks (sign up here)
3.             Nuffnang
4.             Affiliate marketing: LAZADA & Crazy Domains
5.             Promote my own shop

I've been having a bad day that time when I received this email.  I swear this made my lips curved to my ears:

Glory to God. Now, the new challenge is to continue what I started. Also, making sure to comply with AdSense Policy at all times. I know you can do it too.

Cheers!
